A Chinese New Year Inspi’ Board

15 Jan

Chinese New Year is approaching, and it’s been a few years since I’ve been in the centre of its buzz and mirth. That drought’s going to end this year. I will be thrown back into the drill of going a-visiting in the sweltering heat, playing the memory game with relatives, collecting red packets (it’s my last chance before I rise to the status of being the giver instead of beneficiary), snacking on chinese new year goodies, while looking presentable. And by presentable I mean effortlessly stylish and slim. Trust me, this season is the best time for a reality check. If you’ve yet to shed the year-end merrymaking bulge, Aunties – thanks to their keen eye for detail, will highlight that to you loud and clear; while pushing their new year cookies and dishes to you in all oblivion.

Taking all the above into consideration, this is a list of requirements I came up with for a festive get-up:

  • Lightweight and cooling
  • Bulge-proof
  • Comfortable and easy to move in
  • Paired with a roomy clutch to hold all that red packets 🙂

So here’s my very first inspiration board for the festive season, and I threw in a couture-inspired one just for fun! I love Kate Spade’s array of whimsical clutches, and their magazine clutch would make the perfect conversational piece when you bump into fourth-uncle’s cousin brother :p

The First Step

10 Jan

The first step is the hardest, but here I am!

The direction’s still hazy – all I know is that I want a space to share my inspirations, fuel my passions and organize my thoughts. Seems a tad ambitious for someone like me (I’ll get to that About page later!)… baby steps, darlin’, baby steps.
